'Salem's Lot by Stephen King
3.0
I’ve read a few of King’s books, and feel I was missing out by not having read his vampire novel so late in the game especially since I adore vampire novels.
This one though just didn’t really hit the mark for me. Considering it is his second book it isn’t badly written, in fact for a second book it is pretty good. However, I found that the book really dragged at the beginning. What should have been simple world building and character introduction seemed to go on for far longer than one needed to. The story definitely picked up but I was already bored by the time that it did. I also found the ending a little lacklustre and not as exciting as I had hope it would have been.
Overall it wasn’t a bad read, but it wasn’t a great read either.
