My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick

I think I would have had better luck with this one as a physical copy, the eBook format for me needs to be compulsive to hold my interest, whereas I can be more forgiving/receptive when the book is in my hand. The minutiae of Samantha's summer jobs, her anxiety, Mrs Garrett's breast feeding, her mother's outfits and snark etc... didn't exactly compel me. Samantha and Jase didn't feel like they had much depth and I struggled to care as I limped to the finish.

Maybe I'm just cranky that I don't get long summer holidays anymore!
