A beautiful book as always by Kay. Not my favorite as it's ultimate conclusion is less worldly and nuanced than one could expect from GGK. still, fantastic themes and lessons. I do love the comparison he draws of the equivalency of "small" matters such as Rafel's closure of his family issue (missing brother) and "major" events such as a multi-country alliance in the context of a religious war. Also, as always, masterful storytelling in the shape of the story, beginning and ending with LS and Rafel. Also the opening scene of the assassination is fantastic, a truly compelling way to pull the reader into the story.
