Where the Crawdads Sing is such a beautiful book. the mystery feels so secondary to Kya, and everything about her - in the best way! It's a slower pace, which took me a while to adjust to but once I was in, I was IN. a really mesmerising book, which I expect would be all the more interesting upon reread.
Moderate: Sexual assault
Minor: Animal death, Racial slurs, and Racism
This book is set in the 50's and 60's in America, and shows a few examples of racism towards black characters.
A rape is attempted.
