OMG BOOKTUBE IS SERIOUSLY SLEEPING ON THIS SERIES!
I picked this book up for Asianreadathon in May 2020, and I am so fricking glad that I did. I can't believe that I was sleeping on this precious treasure. Not only is this book written by an Asian author, but it is own voices for bisexual representation, and one of the side characters is trans and they are the main character in the next book. I loved all of this representation.
This series is a bit like a gay Sky High, the Amazon series The Boys, and maybe [b:Renegades|28421168|Renegades (Renegades, #1)|Marissa Meyer|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1494896884l/28421168._SX50_.jpg|48526305], but I haven't read Renegades yet! I will soon after I've finished this series because now I feel like reading everything superhero related!
This book was seriously so addicting. I listened to it doing everything. I borrowed it from my library so I had to read it at 2x speed max, and but if it wasn't for that then I would have listened to this book at 4x speed and I would have finished this book a lot faster!
The plot is so good! In the beginning it starts off with Jess trying to figure out if she has super powers, it follows a bit like the Sky High beginning. She then accepts the fact that she won't have any powers so she goes to intern at Munroe Industries which makes all useful robots. Then it takes more of The Boys storyline direction. It's basically great. I can't tell you why it's great without spoiling the book, but I urge you all to read it. There was one twist that I thought was clear as day, but I thought that the author intended to do that because of how clear the twist was.
The f/f romance is also so cute. You basically see Jess fall more and more in love with her high school crush. I really hope that we get to see more of this couple in the later two books, which I ordered straight away after finishing this book.
I highly recommend this book and hopefully the rest of the series. I'm definitely going to be filming a video on this series once I am done!
