House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
5.0
Crescent City follows the story of the Half-Fae, life-loving, party-going, Bryce Quinlan. But when her whole world is turned upside down after the brutal murders of those closest to her…will she rise to the occasion to solve this murder with the help of her assigned Fallen angel protector or will she fall too far to be saved?
When reading this book, the reader enters into yet another brilliant SJM fantasy masterpiece that merges with modern ideals and technology that hasn’t been seen yet in other SJM novels. The reader will be introduced to a complex main character who, in similar fashion to “A Court of Silver Flames”, has her own trauma to work through in a masterfully written way. As she fights these battles within herself, more keys to discovering the culprit behind the life-altering murders of her closest friends comes to light. The book includes slow burn romance that’s to DIE FOR, heart-wrenching developments and the most insane plot twists. The side characters are superb and like any SJM book, the profound world building definitely pays off in the end.
⚔️ Bodyguard Trope
⚔️ Touch Her and Die Trope
