i'm going to start this off by saying that i really wish romance novelists (*cough*lucy*cough*) would just use the word p*nis instead of "magical wand that casts orgasm spells" and "weapon of mass destruction". 😭

this just wasn't necessarily great? although i sped through it, it still could've been 300 pages shorter if you cut out all the unnecessary description and 200 pages worth of uncomfortable spicy scenes. (there was a whole chapter that was just spice and nothing else at one point, needless to say, i ended up just skipping through those parts.). aside from that, most of the characters were okay and not really flushed out nor had any real development. knox was honestly so unbelievably rude and possessive. naomi was so naive, but not the worst. i did enjoy her chapters by the end, but still felt she deserved way better than knox honestly. my favorite character was literally the 11 year old niece, and usually i don't enjoy kids in books. she was seriously the most mature character, and that's saying something considering the two main characters were in their 30s and 40s. also, no spoilers here, but there was SO much serious stuff going on and i felt like none of it really had any impact the way it should have. a lot of it was either glossed over to push knox and naomi's relationship forward or was a vehicle to help knox and his brother nash reconcile. it just didn't really sit right with me. now, in spite of all that negativity, i still sped through this in less than a week, i couldn't put it down or look away. for the first 200 or so pages i was really enjoying it! so, that's why i decided to give it a 3 star rating instead of a 2 star. i do understand why some may love this, and i would recommend to people that love this sort of genre, it just wasn't for me.

edit;; i changed it from 3 to 2.5 stars bc it just gets worse everytime i think about it 😭
