Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
Years since I've read this and I still have not watched a movie version. Wuthering Heights is always lauded as a great love story, with Heathcliff the romantic interest. Now, as the last time I read it, I see only a disparate group of hateful, vengeful people led on an unmerry chase through life by the willful Catherine Earnshaw Linton, whose unthinking and childish manner continue to haunt events even after her death. The story I really want to know is where Heathcliff went for 3 yrs. Still, it is a good book despite its lack of redeeming characters.
