Mars wants the Rociante back from James Holden and his crew. Holden agrees to take a documentary crew to the Ring. Ships from Earth, Mars, and the OPA have gathered in front of the Ring that the protomolecule created. When a ship from Earth is destroyed by Melba (aka Clarissa Mao), a deepfake video of Holden taking credit for the attack is released. When all of the ships enter the Ring, Holden has to convince everyone to follow (protomolecule) Miller's advice on how to safely get out of the Ring. I was really confused with the ending and what is going on with the protomolecule and the Ring. I thought Pastor Anna's character was too naïve and felt very over-the-top. The drastic changes in Melba's personality was jarring. However, I liked the addition of Bull and Sam. I'm looking forward to reading [b:Cibola Burn|18656030|Cibola Burn (The Expanse, #4)|James S.A.
