Children of Dune by Frank Herbert

2.0

Save your time and don't bother with the whole trilogy. The first book is fantastic but it's downhill from there. This is fragmented, incredibly metaphorical, and takes forever to get to the point.

Overall, not a massive amount happens in this third book. There's no real twists and it is dragged out so long that by the time something does happen it's not shocking or gripping. The fact this is a 600+ page book makes it a real chore. It's length adds nothing to its quality and it would benefit from being halved at the least.

Very much reads like it was written by a totally different author to the first. There's none of the adventure of the first book and generally a disappointment.
