The Lost Girls by Heather Young

Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.
Everyone in this book is suffering, and mostly abusive because of it. This book was beautifully written and suspenseful enough to keep me turning the pages for awhile, but it was just dragging me down, down, down. As soon as the abusive mother showed up and threatened to make even more things awful, I skipped through the rest of the book, found the ending had way too little hope way too late, and was both glad and mad I had only suffered through 100 pages.
