Beast by Matt Wesolowski

5.0

The fourth book in the six stories series and the final book of the six for me as I read them out of order. Each story is standalone but I can now see a background arc not that this changes how enjoyable and really fantastic each of these stories are! They weave mystery, crime, mythology and folklore into incredible original tales.

The challenge is Dead in Six Days and Elizabeth Barton decides to play it for her You Tube channel subscribers but during the dare she is found frozen, murdered and her killers are behind bars, 2yrs on graffiti appears on her parents house “who locked Lizzie in the tower”

Who is the Ergarth vampire? Are the right people in prison? Why is the Tankerville Tower so creepy? What does any of this have to do with the Beast from the East?

I have so enjoyed these books, I hope there’s more, once you start reading the story pulls you in, every time, I had to know. Incredible storytelling in a really new and fresh voice. These are crime thrillers with an occult twist playing on local legends and folklore. Psychologically driven with excellent characterisation. This was another 5 star read for me.
