Fool Moon by Jim Butcher

5/5 stars.

This book was the perfect thing to get me out of the reading slump I was in. A short, funny, exciting and fast-paced story with a really interesting plot.

I honestly couldn't keep up with all the twists and turns in this book. Once I thought I had something figured out, some character throws a spanner in the works. Almost every chapter ends in a cliff hanger and so I never wanted to put the book down. This can sometimes get monotonous in other stories but I didn't fell that way for this one.

I see a lot of criticism for Butcher's female characters, especially in the early books, and although I did note it sometimes, I didn't feel it took away from the story too much. I've only got into reading in the last year, so I might be oblivious to some of it.

I really enjoyed the plot and found all the different types of werewolves really added an extra dimension to the story. I'm a sucker for a mystery and the Dresden Files are just right up my alley.

Can't wait to continue this series.
