you poor poor creatures.

heart shattering largely due to the fact that these characters are so devastatingly human; i felt like i could reach out and touch them if i wished hard enough for them to be standing in front of me (and i do wish this- tommy i need you to know your animals are perfect and ruth i NEED you to come here and let me give you a hug. you seem to exist on the brink of collapse at all hours of the day. kathy i dont know what it is but i would love to just sit in a room with you in silence. i think that would be lovely)

also rosalyn landor was truly the  perfect narrator. going to be thinking about this book for ages probably
