Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

5.0

This book is timely, poignant, and a truly perfect satire.

It takes a scathing look at the publishing industry, and the systemic racism within that industry specifically. It comments on online discourse of books, and the value of it. It talks about how alone one can feel in an industry where everyone is your competition. There is so much value crammed into this relatively short book, and it is all handled so so well.

Truly I was hooked, and I can't recommend it enough.
