Shadow Prowler by Alexey Pehov

I don't think that the issues with this book are solely because of the difficulties of translation. It wanders. It's inconsistent in tone. It's boring in parts. And it just sort of trails off in the end. I love the idea of a master thief and Harold (the main character aka the Thief aka the Shadow Prowler) has some interesting qualities, but he never fully springs to life and for a professional, he's quite the whiner, and it's not always clear why he hides the info that he does.
