The Big Great by Jenny Peterson

5.0

Lol so I was done writing a detailed review and it erased on me. But let’s try this again. There were two dominant thoughts that pretty much summed up my feelings while reading this book. The first being, “Swooooooon” because Emmaline and Andrew’s story gave my heart and my stomach all the butterflies in the WORLD. Have you ever read a book and just thought, “huh, so this is what love is.” This book gave me ALL THE FEELS. Where can I find my own Andrew? I want one!

You want to squeal with happiness while reading this because your heart can’t take all the cute moments? This is the book for you! But don’t let it fool you. It will also break your heart into tiny bits and pieces.

The second thought while reading this book was, “JUST TEAR MY HEART OUT ALREADY.” I was a bawling mess during the second half of the book. Like, finished a box of tissues type of mess.

Moving on from my dramatic moment, without giving too much away, Emmaline Presley is sadly sick. Her kidneys are at a point where they are giving up and she needs a transplant. Only time is running out now that she is in her fifth year of waiting for a donor. Who would’ve thought that liking a tweet would have led to her finding her Big Great, Andrew Elders. To sum up Andrew’s life in one word, it would be grey. Not too dark but still difficult to find the light. His head is full of noise he wishes he could just shut off. But maybe Sweet Emmaline will be the one to bring him peace and quiet.

I loved this book so much. I will definitely read it again and again. I cannot wait to find my Big Great. If you are, for some reason, hesitant on reading this book, don’t be! Give it a read. You will not regret it.
