Hummingbird by Natalie Lloyd

5.0

Oommgggggg my heart is so full of joy-kabooms after finishing HUMMINGBIRD by @natalielloydbooks! I La-la-la-LOVED Olive and her story of starting a new school and making friends while searching for the legendary Hummingbird! ❤️
Olive has osteogenesis imperfecta-meaning that her bones are brittle and more prone to breakage and fractures, so the story starts with her being homeschooled, and her biggest wish in her heart is to attend the town’s middle school and make a BFF. Miraculously, her parents agree to let her attend and school is where she learns about the legend of the Hummingbird, a magical bird that grants whoever finds it a wish. School is also where she auditions to play Emily Dickinson in the school play! Olive and the friends she makes go on a quest to learn about and find the hummingbird and try to get their heart wishes to come true. ❤️
Y’all, this was one of the sweetest and fun stories full of bravery, hope, and friendship that I have EVER read! I can’t wait to share it with my students and teachers! RUN and pick up HUMMINGBIRD!!
