The idea of this book has so much potential! I didn't feel as drawn in to the characters as I wanted to be. I found myself not really caring about them or understanding them on much more than a surface level. I was a little thrown off by the syntax as well. It felt a little clunky. I found myself having to re-read sentences often. However, the idea of the story kept me reading until the end. There are many sweet and lovely moments and the mystery (though predictable) was still fun to follow and uncover.
Moderate: Death, Emotional abuse, Mental illness, Blood, Police brutality, Grief, Death of parent, Murder, Pregnancy, Gaslighting, and Abandonment
Minor: Stalking
