Did not finish book. Stopped at 30%.

It felt like the book had an incredibly strong start, two chapters in I was very invested, but then it just kind of tapered off. There were some good stories throughout, but the pacing was pretty slow and I didn’t love the style of dialogue. I was also pretty confused about the magic system and how it didn’t seem to have affected history at all
