Put it this way- I ordered the second book halfway through reading this because I couldn’t bear not going straight into it.

I love Elspeth. I love Ravyn. I love Elm. I love Jespyr. I love Emory. I think I even love Ione and the freaking Nightmare.
So many characters have got me feeling FEELS, and I’m routing for all of them.

After a little bit of a slow start this story picked up massively and I couldn’t tear myself away. I’m so intrigued about the lore of all these cards and love how it’s all been done.

Magic, Quests, Sass, Found family… It’s got it all.

Will say as much as I love Ravyn, I already want an Elm spinoff because I love him too- sorry not sorry. But I’m calling it now that something is brewing between him and Ione. Again… I’m not mad.

Now if you’ll excuse me I’m about to immediately read the next book.
