Thank god there is a short story collection because I need more.
My biggest complaint is the length. This felt like two books shoved into one. This made the climax was a bit, just a bit, underwhelming. I think if the author had made this final volume into two books, the climax would have had a bit more time and been absolutely flawless.
But as it stands, this is still an absolutely epic conclusion to what is now one of my favorite fantasy series of all time. If you loved the first two books, or even liked the second book but felt it lacked action or quests, you will love this one. The characters are still so good, even new additions feel like they belong amongst the others. The stakes are so high, the villains so fun to hate, and the character development is top-notch. This series is perfect for fans of more political fantasy. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
