This book was terribly written and the characters were unlikable. Even for a YA book the characters were immature. Holy instalove. And has the author ever heard the phrase, "show, don't tell?" Emerson sure did pass out a lot when all the action was happening, only to have another character just relay what happened while she was out. I felt like this book was being told to me rather than I was actually reading a novel. So the love interest is a cheater and we're just supposed to think that's romantic? Emerson is selfish and annoying. AND THEN to top it all off, whatsisname is her dad/ her mom's rapist oh but it wasn't REALLY rape because she SEEMED like she wanted it??? He just knew she wanted him and she didn't resist, she just doesn't remember it so she thinks she was raped? Good God. In the books defense Emerson stays mad at her mom's rapist but then again, since this was half a book and ends before the story concludes, I'm not convinced she won't forgive him in future books. I'll never know though because I won't be wasting my time.
Minor: Rape
