I feel like the main villain in this story is not very interesting to follow.
Maybe that’s because he’s mundane.

The main plot in general is not really memorable but this book has a lot of build up for the next book.
I feel like it was a bit boring when Conner and Alex were separated. Alex’s plot is basically her new life as the fairy godmother’s apprentice and how she has been doing in the fairy tale world (also a bit of romance was there). Conner’s plot is trying to get into the fairytale world. So the main plot doesn’t really start until Conner arrives at the fairy tale world (which is like the middle of the book). Until then, I felt like I was reading it fast to get past the fillers as I was impatiently waiting until Conner arrived in the fairytale world.
