How the Grump Saved Christmas by Claire Kingsley

3.0

Grumpy, closed-off, Grinch-like, big-city businessman takes small town! Our love interest is on a quest to buy a dying Christmas farm for the company he works for. Throughout his time there you see his heart soften and Christmas cheer sneaking its way into his heart!

Grumpy sunshine isn't my favorite trope because it's hard to nail. I'd say this author didn't totally hit the mark for me. The two main characters' past conflict reveal was supposed to be a huge plot twist and it fell flat for me. Yes, it was a bump in the road for them, but I didn't see it as a huge deal. I found the lack of communication surrounding the conflict irritating and unrealistic. The conflict didn't satisfy me, but the romance was good!

I do enjoy seeing a grump soften up. Seeing the romance evolve kept me wanting to read this book.
Plus the setting was so Christmas!! I'd recommend this book for a fun holiday read and for someone who enjoys grumpy sunshine!
