They Want to Kill Americans: The Militias, Terrorists, and Deranged Ideology of the Trump Insurgency by Malcolm Nance

challenging reflective tense medium-paced

2.0

This book is kind of marketed to be a telling of the January 6th Insurrection and it is a little bit, but it's more a discussion on white supremacy groups and their history. It was very enlightening learning about Qanon and the other white power groups and conspiracies. They're much more influential than one thinks. The author is extremely dramatic and it was distracting. Yes, they were discussing dark and threatening topics, and yes it's true that its ridiculous and scary that these groups are allowed and celebrated. But the author wasn't grounded or firm or sophisticated, he instead gave off a petty, political vibe that came off more doomsday and fire and brimstone.
