Meet Me In The Blue was completely different from the first book I read by [a:A.M. Johnson|1013748|A.M. In addition, it is the beginning of the new series of this author and I am very excited.

Luka is a character with a rather complex plot: he has always been in love with his best friend, he has never been able to confess his feelings and decides to run away from them by moving away from Hemlock Harbor & Rook in the process, something I could fully understand given the years of friendship he shared with Rook and everything Luka thinks he knows about him. Luka is a lover of photography, a man who also lives with great guilt now that his dad is sick, but who is finally determined to face his feelings, the possible loss, and to win Rook's friendship again.

Who is even more complex than Luka, Rook is going through a big personal crisis: he has a thousand doubts about himself & about his love life and the arrival of Luka to Hemlock Harbor intensifies his everything & the pain that his departure left. But Rook is a man with a big heart, that although he's angry & hurt, he is ALWAYS there for his friend when he needs him and accepts him as he is.

I think what I enjoyed the most about this book was how different the love story of Rook & Luka was, I loved that they never question their love for each other despite of the suffering that sometimes brings them, but that their journey through the book is to find their way back to each other, not just as friends. They have the most complicated, tender and fun moments together, many obstacles to overcome, situations to discover and a connection so special that it made me love them much more than I expected.
