Daisy says -
I always thought that hauntings began with houses. They don't, of course.  It's people, isn't it. They begin with people.

Daisy has a shadowy past, full of pain and loss and fear. She has locked away the things that haunted her as a tiny girl, but now it looks as though they've returned...but this time it's her sister Nina who is their target.

Absolutely gripping YA, beautifully written with such a core of emotional truth you are completely captured by Daisy and Nina's struggles.

The tension builds and builds, the threat escalating unbearably until the painful mathematics of desperation causes events to explode.

Devastating ending, with twists  I didn't see coming; I did not want the book to end.
