The House of Silk by Anthony Horowitz

5.0

Utterly fantastic. As much as I miss certain literary friends, I have become wary of pastiche. Too often revisits of classic characters are a disappointment. I am happy to say that The House of Silk is a stand-out exception. The tone, character, and plotting are exactly on point with Arthur Conan Doyle's adventures, and the story as a whole fits comfortably with the Sherlock Holmes canon.

audiobook note: Derek Jacobi is simply perfect as the voice of Dr. Watson. I understand he is recording adaptations of the original stories, and I will eagerly seek them out.
