If the Fates Allow: A Holiday Anthology from the Authors at Interlude Press, an Lgbtq Publisher by Annie Harper

3.0

I think that I enjoyed this book only because I was desperate for some Christmas stories that were literally anything except heterosexual romances. A lot of the stories really didn’t grab me at all and I thought the whole thing was just average. Is it an enjoyable read if you need some Christmas cheer? Absolutely! Is it something I would recommend for any other reason? Not really.

I didn’t really enjoy this story at all. It was really cheesy in the wrong ways and it just didn’t really interest me. It is a spin-off story of the author’s other books, however, so I may have enjoyed it more if I had read them beforehand.

This was a cute idea but it as just a bit awkward at times for me. The MC was really pushy about setting her uncle up with Wes and I think I would have enjoyed it better if she had been more casual about trying to set them up.

Another story I really didn’t vibe with. It didn’t really go anywhere and the “love interest” was really pushy about trying to get the MC to move on from his dead boyfriend… even though they had only known each other for an hour.

This one was my favorite and the redeeming factor for this book. It was a really cute romance with an awesome best friend and a wonderful family. It gave me all of the fuzzy Christmas vibes.

This one was good too. I really vibed with the MC. She wasn’t exactly anti-Christmas, but she was having trouble feeling the spirit of the season which I related to a lot. I thought the development of the relationship was excellent.
