Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond

challenging dark emotional informative reflective sad medium-paced

5.0

This book was incredibly well-researched and written in a way that kept me engaged the whole time- it is a deep look into the depths of poverty and while it makes me deeply sad and angry to read about these people’s experiences, I am so glad to have read this book. It brings these issues to light and doesn’t let you look away from the ugliness that is the American housing system.
