The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods
2.5
I really wanted to love this book but it just felt a bit overly long and trying to be too many things for me.
I usually love multiple point of view and timeline but for this this one just one just didn't pull together. I genuinely think I would have liked a shorter book from opaline perspective followed by a sequel from Martha's.
I liked the lost bookshop idea and the concept but it got got bogged down in the drama and lost the magic.
More magic book shop elements needed to boost it for me. Or at least more light reprieve through the magic bookshop actions.
I am aware this may be a harsh review as I coming off a starling house book hangover though and I'm sure when we discuss it in June @thegloss book club it will get extra marks
