This is Book 3 of the Witch of Ware Wood Series.
First up, I ADORE that cover. It is so pretty! I also love how, for the most part, the artwork is pretty much the same and just the colour changes!
I confess that while I bought Book 1 and 2, I haven't had chance to read them but I don't feel like I was at too much a disadvantage as Sonja explains things nicely.
In this book, we follow Sara as she tries to stop the Shadow Mother before she claims Thomas and, in the process, also save everyone else!
I love Sara. I love how she is fiery and strong she is. She is the perfect role model for the teenage girls of Sonja's target age range.
Thomas is also brilliant as her supporter and also bonded mate. Their love comes across as powerful in the books and also the words to describe it.
While it is a fantasy, the way that Sonja writes the story makes it entirely accessible to all. The narrative pulls you into the story as you watch what happens to Sara and her friends and family.
The story itself is unique and not something I have come across before, and I enjoyed reading it.
I will be going back and binging on Book 1, Book 2, and then Book 3 (again!) so that I get the complete Ware Woods experience.
A brilliant read and one that both YAs and Adults would enjoy!
