Café Neandertal: Excavating Our Past in One of Europe's Most Ancient Places by Beebe Bahrami

3.0

Boy, this sounded really fascinating. And I learned a lot about Neandertals (including why that's the new name for them). As a primer on the subject, I think this works very well. Unfortunately, Bahrami's writing just didn't work for me. I don't think her idea of making this part travelogue works--there just isn't enough travel and she isn't consistent in framing things that way. I also found her structure in how she introduces the information no intuitive at all, there was no flow. Many ideas were introduced, then introduced again, then introduced again two chapters later. Again, good information but getting too it was harder than it should have been.
