Mistletoe Mobster by Cassie Mint

5.0

I realized that I have become trash for Novellas and I am totally okay with that.

This was my first time reading Cassie Mint and she did not disappoint- so much so that I have already ordered the next 2 books in this series so they can be at my fingertips the moment they come out.

There is something really sweet about this story between Nico and Leah. I loved how they met in the beginning- typical mob story, he gets stabbed, stumbles into her shop to get patched up, but this story was anything but your typical cookie cutter mold in terms of mafia romances. I really liked how Nico was not the don or even the right hand man of the don- he was someone who was just extremely loyal to him, which was refreshing and a take I feel that we don't see very often. I also really enjoyed the slow burn tension between the two main characters and the smaller details that were paid to their story- the threat, the daily life, etc. All of the pieces were beautifully woven together and moved the story along seamlessly. Plus the spice- let's not forget that the slow burn led to some wonderful spice that is extremely swoon worthy!

Highly recommend this very easy read (under an hour if you are not interrupted like I was...what I get for reading at work) with heat and a really cute happily ever after.
