The Monarch of the Glen by Neil Gaiman

4.0

Having just finished the main story, I waited a few days before reading this short story. I enjoyed seeing what was next for shadow and enjoyed discovering his birth name. I remember when I first started read American Gods I looked over the first chapter or so trying too see if I missed where they said his name. Not sure if it was said towards the end of the main story, but it made sense and was a fun call back.

I really liked the set up, but much like the last book for me I felt like the ending was rushed and unsatisfying. Like suddenly Gaiman decided the story had to end. But I liked shadow and I liked the concept. Just wished it had ended better. But defiantly worth a read
