It’s always fun to visit an author’s debut after finding their later work—you can see the seeds of what they gravitate towards, both in technical skill and seemingly personal interest. After devouring The Weight of Blood, I started Allegedly the very same day, and I was not disappointed. A moving story of identity, perseverance hope, and mother's & daughters. Also: read the content warnings. Whew.
