This was.. something, alright. Overall the writing was… pretty enjoyable! ..I think?? The writing style is.. a lot. It’s bizarre and scattered and oddly beautiful and haunting and shocking and ridiculous. The blunt humour and sarcasm was often shocking – and delightful. It never failed to surprise me or make me laugh or gasp. And the twists and turns, good lord. I had no idea what to expect at any point of this story, and it just got wilder and more bizarre the further I went in. That in itself was a delight. I’m still impressed.

I found it so hard to root for Samantha through most of the book though. She was incredibly unlikeable.. but let’s be real, no one is really likeable in this book. Everyone seemed to be straight insane or questionable through to the end. Points for consistency, at least.

Plot? Bizarre as fuck. Could I even begin to tell you about it? Not really. I was left almost as confused as I was when I started. I’m still trying to figure it out. Did I like it? I still don’t know!

But you know what? I had fun. This is probably the strangest read I’ve had this year – or ever. And my rating goes up because of that.
