The Dare by Elle Kennedy

5.0

In this book we follow insecure sorority girl Taylor as she completes a dare to seduce our main man Mr Conor Fucking Edwards. After going upstairs and pretending to have sex for the others to hear, we witness their whirlwind of fake dating as they quickly grow attached to each other and it is a classic case, IMO, of the guy falling first because this man was whipped for her the second he laid eyes on her and it was adorable. We see as they work on their feelings and friendships alongside hockey and their own family dramas and situations (such as Taylor’s mum dating Brenna’s dad the coach) and despite their ups and downs they end up together, stronger than ever. I was so upset when they went on their two ‘breaks’ because they are both just so hurt and don’t actually want to hurt the other but see no other way out which makes it even more heart breaking but I love that they eventually talked about it and got back together and also the implication of them living with Hunter and Demi? Yes please.

I adored this book and I just want to protect these two with all of my heart. There were moments I didn’t like as much, as with any book, but I overall liked the storyline and I just loved seeing how whipped Conor was from the very beginning and it just made me love even more if that is even possible. I loved the characters development that we got from both Taylor and Conor in terms of standing up for themselves and against their pasts to become better people to both themselves and each other and I just ugh. I fucking love all of these books I am so sad it’s over.
