Hello Girls, by Emily Henry, Brittany Cavallaro

5.0

A riveting story about unlikely friends running away from their equally, though completely different, abusive families. I didn't want to put it down! I always cheered for Winona and Lucille, despite how sketchy their actions may have been.

I enjoyed the exploration of what girls face when they're growing up. Being 18, Lucy and Winona are on the brink of adulthood but are always overlooked as just "little girls" who are helpless. However, they fight back against this. I also noticed the theme of "life isn't what you expect" come up often, right down to the ending.
