Bloodline by Sidney Sheldon

4.0

THIS IS MY FIRST EVER SIDNEY SHELDON BOOK. And wow!

This is how I felt while reading this. I could not put it down!

A little background: this book had been in grandmother's shelves for so long. It was older than me and for ages my grandma had been convincing me to read it until a few days ago, I finally gave in. I knew Sidney Sheldon was a great writer without having to read his works. A lot claimed he was their favorite writer.

I did not expect to be this blown away by a mystery / crime book--it's not the usual genre that I lean towards but I might just start now. So having gotten a knowledge in the first few chapters on what the story is about, this book did not go that way I thought it would go--in a good way.

We got so many characters and yet SS had made it possible to be able to differentiate each one. Myghad! I had never read about such complex and well-built characters in a span of pages! There was just so mnay theories and I had fun looking into each of the characters.

The funniest story had to be Ivo's!! And the best one had to be Samuel's. I didn't think I would care about great-great-grandfather Roffe but I found that I was rooting for him every page I turned. I loved Elizabeth's childhood story. I loved the tension between Elizabeth and Rhys! I was like:

I had gotten my theory right about Anna! I was so happy that I at least got one thing correct. HAHA.

And goodness gracious, I thought I was already done with it as the book thinned but then again there was a plot twist in the last 6 pages of it!

The only thing I didn't like about this book was Max. I thought that Elizabeth would be the one leading us to the right answers and Max's point of views were like summaries of the things that were already happening and I found myself zoning in and out of his POVs. I just think he was not that much of a necessary character in the book.

Overall, I loved how this book was written. The pace is great. The length is fine. Would definitely recommend for those who haven't tried this genre. They will surely found love for it.
