The Turn of Midnight by Minette Walters

2.0

I went from the first book straight into this. Lady Anne could have been an amazing figure but I didn’t find any of the character development especially deep or meaningful. Conceptually, the premise was solid - a strong, intelligent heroine fighting against the patriarchy - showing the world that birth status alone doesn’t measure a person’s worth. But I found this to be even more dull than the first book - repetitive, boring and confusing.
