Kiss Me in New York by Catherine Rider

2.0

The first thing I noticed about this book was how short it was. I don’t know when the last time I read a book that was less than a hundred pages was. I thought the book would be super fast-paced but it drags on and on.

The story follows a British girl that is taking a semester abroad in New York. She goes to the airport on Christmas Eve to go home. But sadly her flight is canceled. She’s also going through a tough breakup and really wants to go home. She goes to a bookstore in the airport and accidentally buys a book about how to get over your ex. Ironic, right? She meets a guy her age at the airport. He’s also going through a breakup. They decide to roam around New York and complete the list of how to get over your ex together. Then they fall in love because apparently, the city is magic. (As a person that lives relatively close to NY and has been there multiple times, it’s not magic. Trust me.)

Overall this book was not one of my favorites. It felt like a very stereotypical winter romance.
