What an incredible read. The writing style is so charismatic, and there’s a certain level of occasional unserious-ness that makes you feel so close to the book. There’s humor, there’s intriguing fantasy elements, the premise is very thought-provoking (with a dash of silliness). Mort’s conundrums and growth are incredible to read.
The descriptive wording often makes me feel like I’m watching the movie play in front of me rather than reading, especially at the last third of the story. My first introduction into Discworld and I can clearly see why Terry Pratchett is so beloved.
