Animal Farm by George Orwell

2.75

I don't know at what age or mindset you would have to be to really appreciate this book for all that it is. If you read it in high school, you'd understand it, but may not truly value it. As young adult (the category I fall in), I value it, but it reads like a bedtime story. Not in a derogatory way, but it seemed simple.

I will also confess that I am not familiar enough with the historical context that surrounds this book, and maybe that is what would've also enhance this read more. Nonetheless, as much as I predicted the pigs rise, I still did not expect how much they would mirror the humans. So, that last page did shock me and for that, I am glad.

All in all, I feel really neutral about the book. Glad to have read an Orwell book and know more about what I believe is deemed as a classic. I can see how this would be revolutionary for its time.
