A Treasury of British Folklore: Maypoles, Mandrakes & Mistletoe by Dee Dee Chainey

informative fast-paced

2.75

This seems like far too many things jammed into far too few pages. While I think I would enjoy the author's voice in proper format, this book barely has time to mention each creature, or belief before moving on to the next in the list. If anything catches your attention you're going to need to check outside resources to get the information you want, making this, perhaps a good starting point for anyone entirely unfamiliar to folklore, but nothing to offer anyone already aware of its components in Britain.
