Such beautiful writing and striking metaphors.
I really appreciated the portrait of the Native people working at a Minneapolis bookstore during the time of the pandemic and the George Floyd/BLM protests. It is a good illustration of how we find community and support each other in hard times.
The main character, Tookie, and her husband are unforgettable characters.
I also enjoyed the sly way that Louise Erdrich includes herself as a minor character in the novel.
