The Big Picture: On the Origins of Life, Meaning, and the Universe Itself by Sean Carroll
4.0
While it loses a little momentum when the discussion turns to morality, and I find Carroll's writing style a little repetitive and slow, this book is a tour de force. Carroll covers an almost impossible number of topics and manages to introduce almost all of them with care. I especially enjoyed his conversations of quantum field theory, entropy and the arrow of time, and reducible complexity. Highly recommended--4.5/5 stars.
