Travelers by Helon Habila

5.0

Could NOT put this down. I honestly think everyone should read this book. The author dives into the story of Gina and her husband in the first section. Through the husband, we are introduced to seemingly smaller characters, but their stories are interlinked and illuminated in the subsequent sections. Not all of them face the same challenges, but the quest for identity and a place to call home is the same.

I found many of the stories heart-wrenching. Even if you don't care about immigration, or the refugee crisis, or those who are just trying to make it in this world, I think that Travelers will still push you to confront the realities of your existence, the privileges and blessings you have, that many do not.
