This is the first Epistolary novel that I have read and I really enjoyed the formating. It allowed for a inconsistent narrator that still tells all. As well as this allows for multiple perspectives without it becoming confusing.
On top of this it is the grandaddy of vampire fiction and as someone who loves both vampire the masquerade and vampire fiction as whole. This really does it near the best I have ever seen.
Finally the horror there is some real terror in this that really hit me. The early chapters had me feeling the fear of slowly learning you may never leave without ever letting go of that tension. Until he seems safe.
